Sean Adams

Chair, Undergraduate and Graduate Graphic Design

Sean Adams is the Chair of the Graphic Design Plan at ArtCenter. Adams continues his design practice with The Role of Sean Adams. He is the writer of multiple books, and on-screen author for LinkedIn Learning. He is the simply 2-term AIGA national president in AIGA's 100 year history. In 2014, Adams was awarded the AIGA Medal, the highest honor in the profession. He currently is on the editorial board and writes for Design Observer.

 Adams is an AIGA Boyfriend, and Aspen Design Fellow. He has been recognized by every major competition and publication including; How, Print, Pace, Communication Arts, Graphis, AIGA, The Blazon Directors Lodge, The British Art Director's Society, and the Art Director's Club. Adams has been exhibited frequently, including a solo exhibition at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Fine art. Adams is an writer of multiple magazine columns, and several best-selling books. He has been cited as ane of the forty most important people shaping design internationally, and one of the acme ten influential designers in the United States. Previously, Adams was a founding partner at AdamsMorioka.

Brad Bartlett

Faculty Director, Transmedia

Brad Bartlett is a designer, artist and educator. He earned his Masters Caste in Design from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1998, graduating with the highest honors. He as well holds a Bachelors Caste in Graphic Design from Due north Carolina Land University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His graduate work at Cranbrook, exploring the relationship of media and civilisation, was presented at MIT and Fabrica of Benetton in Italy.

He has been an educator at Art Center College of Design since 1999 and was awarded Slap-up Teacher in 2003 and again in 2014, delivering the commencement address to the summer graduating class. Brad is besides the Faculty Manager of Transmedia in the Graphic Design Department at Art Eye, where he has worked to implement transmedia pedagogy and has overseen the development of transmedia courses.

The work of his Los Angeles-based design studio has won numerous awards and has been widely published. In 2012, his work was awarded the Frances Smyth-Ravenel Grand Prize for Excellence in Blueprint by the American Alliance of Museums for the Altered Landscape: Photographs of a Irresolute Environment.

Jan is a seasoned artistic who's worked in diverse media for some of the globe's most influential companies, lifestyle brands and non-profit organizations including Sundance, The Walt Disney Co, ABC Networks, Viacom-Nickelodeon-MTV, HBO, Alive Earth, Transworld Media, NewForm Digital and The Library Foundation Los Angeles.

Jan has a broad range of feel in film and television receiver, multi-dimensional branding, advertising, experiential amusement, publishing, consumer products, social media and digital.

Notably, Jan served equally VP, Executive Creative Director-Producer for Robert Redford | Sundance.
Over 12 formative years, she helped to shape the Sundance make across all its related organizations; developing and producing content and branded experiences for Sundance Pic Festival, Sundance Constitute, Sundance Motion picture Series, Sundance Resort and Farms, Sundance Cinemas, Sundance Catalog and also past serving equally VP, Head of Artistic and Content for SundanceTV.

Prior to Sundance, Jan was an executive at The Walt Disney Company. While at Disney, she led creative development for several large-calibration new businesses, including an all-encompassing educational brand with an associated learning channel for Disney-ABC Networks; Disney's first Regional Entertainment concept:
Disney ClubHouse, and several digital innovation projects with Walt Disney Imagineering.

Gerardo Herrera earned his B.F.A. caste in 1991 with Honors in Graphic Communication and Packaging pattern from Art Center Higher of Design in Pasadena California.

In 1996, Gerardo was recruited by Nokia to build and head The Brand Experience Design Teams in the US, UK, Cathay, & Finland. The team provided strategic insight and advanced blueprint for Nokia's global brand, Vertu Brand, Nokia's N-Gage Sub-brand, product development, user interface and experience design creation. Equally Global Managing director of this strategic design team, they prepare the vision of Nokia's future every bit well as set up the foundation to integrate purpose and process with all the disciplines inside and outside of Nokia Pattern.

Recently, Gerardo has co-developed, designed, manufactured and launched the premium pet lifestyle visitor {yep yup}, whose mission is dedicated to merging pet tech and their people lifestyles. He is also an associate at Design Studio Nuovo, with founder Frank Nuovo, sometime principal of pattern for Nokia and founder/creator of Vertu. Blueprint Studio Nuovo is an incubator for developing compelling ideas, design solutions and innovative applied science systems for commercially feasible products and services with global brands and new ventures.

In addition to leading {yep yup}, Datzing – a micro location software platform and Head of Make Experience for DSN, Gerardo is also the Manager of Packaging for Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, California. He leads his departments faculty in the continued development of the curriculum, while teaching and working with Fine art Eye's Educational Partnerships for Corporate Sponsored Projects & DesignStorms® . Gloria'due south career spans both design and fine art practices. As a design consultant to national and international firms, she has contributed to, and helped evolve, extensive branding, identity and packaging systems. Clients benefiting from her expertise include Aon, Avon and Goodwill Industries. As the owner of a letterpress and fine jotter company, she has developed more than 100 custom stationery and souvenir items sold online, through direct mail and in national retail chains.

A dedicated design educator for more than than two decades educational activity typography and visual trouble solving, she works to redefine the value of typography and analog technology in the digital landscape.Her fine art printworks and fine art press books are in private and public collections including AIGA, the Getty Research Institute, UCLA's William Andrews Clark Memorial Library and The Sackner Annal of Concrete and Visual Poesy. In recognition of her interest in social, cultural and environmental problems, she received the AIGA Greening of Design award. She earned her BA in fine art from CUNY at Brooklyn College, New York, and her MFA from Fine art Center. Prof. Kondrup is the Excecutive Director of the Hoffmitz Milken Middle for Typography, and the Managing director of Archetype Press.

Elaine Alderette

Elaine believes there is always a story to be told. This mantra guided her career working in advertising, interactive blueprint and move graphics. A graduate of ArtCenter in the early on 90s, she helped shape the early development of interactive identity pattern for Time Warner and Launch interactive. With a love of branding and sequence, she transitioned to motion design, where she has enjoyed working for several Los Angeles based design firms including, Picture Factory, Imaginary Forces, SuperFad, Make New School and Emmet Farm. Her client list includes Nike, Sony, HBO, Paramount Pictures, Universal, Disney, Target, Toyota and Apple. She has served as senior lecturer at Otis College of Pattern and has been teaching at Art Eye since 2014. Elaine credits a stiff foundation in storytelling equally the guiding force in her ability to problem solve in any blueprint platform. She teaches with a strong focus on concept, directing students to find their authentic voice in every particular of their work.

Christina Aumann

Christina Aumann combines contemporary language with typography and antiquarian letterpress press technologies. She views the letterforms she works with every bit miniature sculptures with battle scars from the years they have lived through. These imperfections reveal themselves in the prints, adding a homo quality to her artwork.

Aumann received a BA in Studio Arts from University of California, Santa Barbara, and her piece of work has been exhibited at venues including Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Brewery Project, and Artworks/Bookarts. She is an assistant professor at ArtCenter Higher of Design, Pasadena, and recipient of a 2017 Hoffmitz Milken Centre for Typography Educators Grant.

Marian Bantjes

Marian Bantjes is a designer, typographer, writer and illustrator working internationally from her base on a small isle off the w coast of Canada, most Vancouver. She is a member of Brotherhood Graphique Internationale (AGI), and regularly speaks about her piece of work and thoughts at conferences and events worldwide.

Her career spans 3 stages: she worked equally a volume typesetter from 1984–1994: she co-founded and ran a graphic design studio, Digitopolis, from 1994–2003; and since 2003 she has worked on her ain as a designer/artist/letterer. It is this latter piece of work for which she has get internationally known.

Marian's art and design crosses boundaries of time, style and technology. She is known for her detailed and lovingly precise vector art, her obsessive paw piece of work, her patterning and ornament. Marian's work has an underlying structure and formality that frames its organic, fluid nature. It is these combinations and juxtapositions that describe the involvement of such a wide diverseness of designers and typographers, from experienced formalists to young students.

Jessica Deseo

Partner at Dieline, Jessica is also a packaging designer and faculty fellow member at ArtCenter College of Blueprint. She has worked as a professional hands-on designer for a broad assortment of notable brands since 2005, but in 2014 she took a pace back and became a partner at Dieline where her ultimate goal was to "Brand Shit Happen."

In 2016, Jessica became a kinesthesia fellow member at ArtCenter College of Blueprint teaching Packaging two, and she recently received a 2018 ADC statuary cube for her contribution as an instructor to the pupil project "Wise by Patagonia."

While Jessica is nonetheless working on her memoir and Ted Talk, when she isn't "Making Shit Happen" or shooting for the stars, she enjoys spending time with her husband, girl and loveable fur babe.

Polly Geller

Ms Geller grew upwards in Rome, Italy, the daughter of ii expatriate artists. She is a polyglot, published poet and literary translator (she received her MFA from Otis College of Art & Design), and has taught English to foreign students of all ages since 1993. Her keen understanding of learning another language and the perseverance it takes is what she believes makes us better writers; as artists and designers who observe the world, as outsiders who bring greater empathy to our environs. She has been teaching undergraduates and graduates (MDP, Designmatters, and MGx) at Fine art Center since 2015 and is the recipient of both a Samsung Didactics Advancement Award and Faculty Project Grant. She is currently creating an educational aide for ELL students and writers in demand of inspiration.

Her sister, Hillary Geller, was a Graphic Pattern/Packaging major at ACCD and is Blueprint Director at StudioLab in Chicago.

Stephen Serrato lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He began his independent graphic pattern do later receiving a BFA from the ArtCenter College of Pattern, Pasadena in 2005. Carolina Trigo

Carolina Trigo is an artist, designer and researcher based in Los Angeles. Her practise is performance and text based, it explores the notion of impurity in relation to politics and transformability. Trigo received a Fine Arts education in Buenos Aires prior to receiving a B.F.A. from Fine art Middle College of Design in Los Angeles. She holds an Thou.A in Philosophy, with Distinction, from the European Graduate Schoolhouse in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, where she is currently completing her Ph.D in Philosophy.
